Celebrating "Older Americans Month"
The Art to be shown is working in the Oil Pastel "Smudge" technique invented and taught by Nevada Roster Artist + Communities Carol Foldvary-Anderson.

​This exciting technique entails working with a hand-cut template and understanding positive and negative shapes. Students started with the same/similar template and came up with some exciting variations on the same theme.  Come cheer these Artists on!  Refreshments Served!

It was my first time attending Older Americans Month and what fun I had offering the grant funded FREE ART CLASSES to adults 55+!  Much gratitude to the Nevada Arts Council & the National Endowment for the Arts in their support of my art & efforts to share the Oil Pastel Smudge technique to the community!

The (NAA) Nevada Artists Association will be hosting a 1 day workshop "Fun with a SMUDGE!"
I will be teaching the basics of the technique, as you can see in the flier, you can go in all different directions and have fun doing so! Register at www.NevadaArtists.org today.  Ages 13 and up are encouraged to apply.  The fee includes all materials. All that is necessary to bring to class is a pair of pointed scissors and an open mind to experimentation, play and to learn something new!  See you on April 23rd! 

Creating Mandalas seems to help me to relax, and to focus, on the many things that are taking place in my life.   I usually create my Mandalas in pen and color pencils.  This image is a Mandala I created a while back.   I cut two shapes to make my template, can you guess what they might be?

My all around image for the holidays is and always has been a Peace Dove!  World Peace in my lifetime would be a glorious experience.  Sending Peace and Love to one and all!
